My friend Dolores has 3 girls and a boy. These pictures were taken at least a couple of months ago and I revisit them from time to time. I am fascinated by girls and their growth in this world, especially now that I have one of my own. It is both a difficult and beautiful planet that we live on but as all of you know the messages that are given, especially to women, are ones not conducive to happy and fulfilling growth.
And yet, Dolores is doing a fantastic job as their mother and role model, and I am looking forward to photographing the changes in them as well as the ones in my own little girl.
Having a daughter has been such an education for me–an infuriating, mystifying, rewarding, heartwarming and loving education. Love these shots from the daily life of girls.
