Kitchen Culinaire Fundraiser

As you know from my previous posts, I have been using good old film quite a lot lately and I love it! I met the beautiful Audrey at Oasis and loved her Canon AV-1 camera especially its aperture priority. I had seen some of the pictures she had taken with it and was smitten. So naturally I bought one on eBay. Its simplicity is wonderful and I find that I carry it with me all the time as I love shooting with it as well as my DSLR.

Which brings me to this post…

The ladies (Julie and Sarolta) at Kitchen Culinaire had their annual fundraising for the Food Bank on December 1. I had been to a couple of their cooking classes and was excited to attend the party especially as it was for a good cause. I had one roll of 3200 b&w film and took the Canon for a spin that evening. The results are grainy, really grainy. I love grain, it is a personal preference like shooting Polaroid is. It is not for everyone but I am happy with the results. It was fun to shoot that evening.

Julie and Sarolta of Kitchen Culinaire presented at one of our Sparkfly events, The Five Senses, a few months ago. Their generosity and food was amazing. If you are in Vancouver, you must try them. It is fun to spend an evening with Julie and Sarolta and you will learn new recipes while enjoying some wine and sampling the food as the evening progresses. lovely!
